How does Windshield Skin® work?

Windshield Skin® protection films are made from highest-quality materials that are engineered to absorb impacts from rocks, gravel, and other debris. The film is applied to the exterior of the windshield, creating a strong barrier that helps to prevent chips and cracks from forming in your windshield.

How long does Windshield Skin® last?

The lifespan of Windshield Skin® protection is influenced by various factors, such as the quality of the film or coating, exposure to environmental elements, and the frequency of windshield cleaning. Generally, all Bray windshield protection products have a life expectancy of 1 year minimum (see page 22 for more details). With proper care and maintenance, the material can last up to 5 years. It is noteworthy that the first year of the product's lifespan is backed by the manufacturer through our warranty system.

For those seeking the longest-lasting material, we recommend exploring our 1 Layer, 2 Layer, or 3 Layer Peel-Away product line. However, it's important to emphasize that professional installation is required for this product line. Please be aware that this product is not intended for do-it-yourself (DIY) installation. Peel- Away product line is reserved for particular accounts with specific requirements. Contact the factory directly for more information and training schedules.

Is Windshield Skin® legal?

Windshield Skin® products, when correctly installed on a previously approved windshield, successfully meet the standards outlined in ANSI SAE Z26.1-1996 for standard glazing materials. Furthermore, Bray Windshield Skin® material has undergone independent testing and has successfully passed all required ECE R43 tests for the EU. It meets all NHTSA guidelines.

Will my windshield wipers affect the material?

Windshield Skin® has built in hydrophobic properties which you'll notice may eliminate the use of wipers at times! It is important to ensure use of Windshield Skin® Maintenance Wipes and frequently clean both the windshield and the wiper blades with ammonia-free cleaner and a microfiber cloth. If dirt or debris get caught under the wipers, it can drag across the material and cause scratches. Note that Windshield Skin® is a wearable product with a 1-5 year warranty. Overtime, scratches may be visible and that is a sign it is time for a new Windshield Skin®!

Will Windshield Skin® affect my sensors?

Modern windshields often incorporate sensors and cameras for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). During windshield replacement, precise calibration or recalibration of these sensors is vital to ensure accurate functionality. Since Windshield Skin is applied to the exterior of the windshield, it does not interfere with the sensors' operation or require recalibration. This innovative solution allows you to protect your factory-installed windshield while preserving the integrity of the ADAS technology.

Is Windshield Skin® easy to install?

Yes, Windshield Skin® Super Stretch protection is a new Windshield Skin® product designed to be easy to install. Many people choose to install Windshield Skin® Super Stretch material themselves using our kit that includes all the necessary materials and instructions. We are also more than happy to refer you to a local Authorized Dealer near you if you are looking for professional installation!

Can Windshield Skin® be applied to any vehicle?

Yes, Windshield Skin® protection can be applied to all types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs, semi truck, RV, bus transit, motorsports, heavy equipment, side glass and rear glass.
