Our Universal Kit delivers the same protection and lets you cut right to the glass edge for a clean, near-invisible look.
The Windshield Skin® Universal Kit is a 48" x 70" sheet of windshield protection film that you trim to fit any standard windshield, regardless of year, make, or model. It is the option to choose if your vehicle is not in our pre-cut lineup, or if you want to cut right to the glass edge for a clean, near-invisible finish. Available in 6 mil, 8 mil, and 12 mil.

Choose the Universal Kit if your vehicle is not covered by a Vehicle-Specific Kit, if you want edge-to-edge coverage cut precisely to your glass, or if you would rather trim your own fit than work from a pre-cut shape. If your make and model is in our lineup and you want a pre-cut fit with no trimming, a Vehicle-Specific Kit is the easier path.
Which thickness should you choose?
- 6 mil: light or temporary protection, such as track and rally days
- 8 mil (SS8): our original film for everyday drivers, and the most popular choice
- 12 mil (XP12): maximum protection for off-road, high-speed, and rough conditions, with the same clarity and install process as SS8
Universal Kit: How it Works
Windshield Skin® is a flexible, optically clear film that forms to the outermost ply of your factory glass and absorbs the impacts from rocks, sand, and road debris. It protects against everyday chips and scratches while staying clear, and when it wears, you replace the film instead of the windshield.
