Introducing ES6: A New Standard in Lightweight Windshield Protection

Windshield Skin® is expanding its lineup with the introduction of ES6 (6mil)—a purpose-built solution designed to deliver cost-effective protection for drivers who don’t require heavy-duty coverage, but still want to safeguard their windshield from light wear.

This launch isn’t about replacing our existing options—it’s about filling a gap. ES6 provides a more accessible entry point into windshield protection while also offering a versatile layer for those already running thicker films.

ES6 provides a protective barrier against common hazards like light road debris, sand, and minor impacts—helping reduce surface pitting and premature wear on your glass. For customers, wanting protection at a more affordable and accessible rate, ES6 offers that more balanced option.

Affordability was a key driver in developing ES6, but performance wasn’t sacrificed to get there.

The 6mil construction maintains the optical clarity, fitment precision, and ease of installation that define the Windshield Skin® system—while lowering the cost barrier for entry.

One of the most strategic advantages of ES6 is its role as a top-layer “cover”.

For customers already running 8mil or 12mil protection, ES6 can be installed over the primary layer to act as a sacrificial shield. After a rally, road trip, track day or high-impact drive, the 6mil layer can be removed and replaced—preserving the integrity of the underlying film.

  • 6mil (ES6): Light protection / sacrificial layer

  • 8mil: Balanced, all-around coverage

  • 12mil: Maximum protection for high-impact environments

This tiered structure gives customers the ability to tailor protection based on their personal needs.

ES6 (6mil) is now available through authorized Windshield Skin® dealers and distributors. For those looking for a lighter, more cost-effective solution—or a smarter way to extend the life of existing protection—ES6 delivers exactly that.
